Art is all about a connection.
A connection of what's in the artists brain and the medium they use to be press the vision.
I am so excited to be sharing the vision of so many amazing Jewish Women in one venue with the Los Angeles Jewish Community this month of Elul.
Art connects us to each other and to Hashem.

If you would have told me three years ago this was possible I would have believed you.
Life is a journey and so is our spiritual experience. One step at a time. Everything happens at the right time. When we apply ourselves spiritually our soul reveals itself and we begin to grow more everyday. One good deed at a time. One mitzvah at a time.
Preservation 🚨 We’re not done protecting the historic Fairfax Theatre yet! Our next hearing is on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 2pm. ravayna says [that] nearly every Friday about this time, you can find me wrist deep in flour and yeast. My granny's memory is indeed a blessing- I honor her legacy of love as I make her challah recipe for my family and friends.
Though I know it from memory, I've written it up over on www.LoveRavayna.com so that everyone can have some of granny's goodness.
Whether you're blessing it by candlelight (Shabbat shalom!) or just all about the carbs, it's worth the wait and the bake.
#OnOneFoot streaming video course - coming very soon!!! 3+ hours of content, exploring Judaism’s most essential ideas, stories, and values. Been working on it for the close to 2 years- can’t wait to get it out there and welcome folks to start learning!
🗞 🚨 About the Fairfax Theatre! On Sunday, July 25 at 5pm PT you are invited to Zoom in to immerse in some local history with Steve Luftman, the author of the local Historic Cultural Heritage and the National Register of Historic Places nominations for the Fairfax Theatre. His illuminating and impactful presentation about the theater’s importance to the Jewish community as they settled in the Beverly Fairfax area in the early 1930s, actually changed the Los Angeles Cultural Heritage Commission's mind about the theatre's worthiness for landmark designation. This is a complimentary program with registration on Eventbrite. Jewish history in this district did not start with Canter’s Deli!
This is also our chance to meet YOU and hear your memories of this area in the 1940s - 1970s. We will have a discussion following the presentation. We look forward to meeting you!
Our National Register of Historic Places Hearing is July 30 at 9:00 AM PT. You can tune in to speak or just to watch the proceedings.
As you know, the Art Deco Society of Los Angeles and Save Beverly Fairfax are simultaneously seeking local Los Angeles Historic Cultural Monument status AND National Register designation for the historic Fairfax Theatre (corner of Beverly & Fairfax) in the Beverly Fairfax neighborhood. Community participation is key.
Feel free to share all of this information freely to help the cause! Link in bio for more details. Last pic is the Fairfax after a recent fire started under the marquee. 📰 🚨 The Cultural Heritage Commission unanimously voted to RECOMMEND the Fairfax Theatre as a Cultural Heritage Monument (HCM). We still have a longer journey to designation, but the commission recognized that they must take the cultural aspects of a place into consideration as significantly as architecture. The Fairfax Theatre has a deep history as a force in the Jewish Community’s migration from Boyle Heights to the unrestricted Beverly Fairfax area when laws restricted Hews (among other populations) from owning or renting property in many Los Angeles neighborhoods. Stay tuned to continue this journey with us and to have your voice heard!!
