Archaeological evidence shows that the area of Tudela has been inhabited continuously since the Old Stone Age. Its mixed population of Jews, Christians, and Muslims made it home to many important writers, including the first translator of the Koran to a Western Language. Today it is best known for the week long Santa Ana Festival in July, celebrated with street music, bullfights, and the running of the bulls.
