Yusuf Savat

Yusuf Savat is the managing director of a travel company located in Kusadasi (Ephesus) and Izmir. He provides all kind of tours and travel services, hotel accommodations and arranges tailor-made itineraries for private groups and individuals. He is a licensed tour guide (issued by the Turkish Ministry of Tourism) and has been guiding for 15 years all over Turkey. Most of his clientele are from the US. Many of them are alumni of colleges and museum groups. Yusuf studied English Language and Literature and Classical History. In winters, He travels abroad or joins archeological excavations in Turkey. His summers are spent as a guide to groups visiting Turkey. He specializes in guiding and arranging Blue Voyage (Gullet) tours, Cultural Tours, Biblical Tours and Archeological Tours in Turkey. Though based in Kusdasi where most people go to visit the spectacular ruins at Ephesus, he can take you to Marmaris, Bodrum, Izmir, Istanbul, Anatolia and all over Turkey if you like.

On this Free Baku Tour, you will explore the social-cultural-leasure heart of downtown Baku labelled as “Tarqovı” (Nizami street) and learn about exquisite stories of love and hatred, rise and fall, happiness and tragedy, turmoil and tranquillity, contrast and harmony from confluent lives of oil barons, Soviet times and everyday people.

You will be guided to the social and cultural formation of Fountains Square (then Parapet), Nizami (then Torgovaya), and Khagani (Xəqani; then Molokanskaya) streets in Baku based on real-life stories, urban legends, and myths that have been developed through socialist Soviet and capitalist modern times. Charlotte Thalmay

Jewish Copenhagen was established in 2006 by Charlotte Thalmay, who is born and raised in Copenhagen and active in the Jewish Community. She has a bachelor in turism from Roskilde University, and is vice-president in the Zionist Federration. Her son Simon lives in Israel and is currently serving in the army.

The mission of Jewish Copenhagen, is to bring alive the history of Jewish life in Denmark. All the way back from 1622, up to the present with its everyday stories of being a minority in a small country.
