Amit

Amit discovered his passion for cooking as a child, in his grandmother’s kitchen. Two decades later, when his family immigrated to South Africa he fulfilled his dreams and worked professionally in the field. Years later, after a visit in India, he was inspired by the culture and diverse cuisine and decided return to the subcontinent and train in the local culinary arts.

He brought back his knowledge to Cape Town and opened Masala Dosa Restaurant that combined traditional South Indian cookery with a modern dining experience. The restaurant operated successfully for 11 years under the care and dedication of Amit and also functioned as a space for cooking workshops for the public and chefs alike. The desire for change and travel led Amit to sell the restaurant in2016 and embark on a journey around the world. At the end of his travels he decided to return to his birthplace in Israel.

He chose to reside in the heart of the city on a rooftop apartment surrounded by trees and birds. In this space he offers his experience and knowledge and hold workshops and special culinary events. Amit’s passions extend to the arts too. He has studied Design and Fine Art and has worked both as an artist and educator in these subjects in private institutions. He brings his knowledge and love to his guided tours in Tel Aviv specializing in street -art and architecture.

A Jewish Oriented Trip to Dubai and Abu Dhabi

The United Arab Emirates, is a federation of seven principalities in the Arabian Peninsula united into one country in 1971. The largest and most famous of which are Dubai and Abu Dhabi. In August 2020, Israel and the United Arab Emirates announced the normalization of their relationship, thus actually allowing Israeli tourists to visit the magical kingdom on the shores of the Persian Gulf.

Today the seven emirates enjoy unimaginable abundance and wealth. In the UAE they have been able to utilize the huge funds received from the utilization of natural resources, especially oil, in order to flourish the long-standing wilderness, promote the country and make it special and extraordinary. All wealth and prosperity grew in less than fifty years. The rugged Arabian desert dances and magical and secluded bays of the Persian Gulf. At that time the inhabitants of the principalities made a meager living mainly from sheep, cattle, basic agriculture, fishing, and pearling.

Since then the inhabitants of the emirates have upgraded themselves significantly and today the emirates are synonymous with luxury, investment, innovation, ambition to which the world bears amazing eyes. The magnificent architecture, the artificial islands, the centers of art and commerce, all embody modernity and groundbreaking progress alongside culture and tradition. A trip to the Emirates is a special and varied experience. The Emirates trip is a combination of futuristic and unique urban landscape alongside dunes and remote deserts, Neve Dekalim, fishing villages, luxury hotels, authentic markets, spectacular beaches, and more like your imagination – the land of unlimited possibilities.

Alon D.

Since my childhood I explored my country to its length and width and the more I knew I felt I must learn more, which is why I studied Geography and History of Israel. In the kibbutz where I lived I taught geography but most of the teaching was outside. I guided young children and adults in various trails all over my beloved country. In 1996, I was appointed as manager of Hatzeva field School in the Arava which is part of the Israeli desert. The school deals with teaching and researching the natural habitat in the desert. I got a lot of experience guiding young students and adults in the wilderness of the desert. I completed my studies at the Ministry of Tourism and became a licensed Tourist Guide. I started guiding tourists all over Israel but my specialty is the desert.

In 2008 I hiked to the length of Israel on “Israel Trail” (at that time 940km and now more than 1000km). Since then I started guiding groups on Israel Trail, which about half of it pass through the desert and finish in the south on the shore of the Red Sea near Eilat. There are many beautiful trails in the mountains near Eilat where the geology is unique and the landscapes are extraordinary. I can walk the same trail hundreds of times and it will never be the same. The air, weather, colors, passing animals and of course the guided travelers – all give me sheer excitement as I do it again.

Camel Safari with Bedouin Meal

On arrival at the camel farm, receive a safety briefing and instructions for riding a trusty desert steed. Then, climb up onto your camel and enjoy a ride across the sandy terrain consisting of a circular ride through the beautiful desert landscape of the Eilat Mountains Reserve. Learn how to master the rolling gait and enjoy the views from your elevated perch.

After your roughly 1.5 hour ride, return to the camel farm and enjoy a Bedouin tea, made with mint-flavored habak. Sip on the refreshing brew and relax as you chat over your camel ride adventures then sit down to a delicious Bedouin sit-meal. Traditional Bedouin meals usually consist of small plates of food shared between everyone, so expect to dig into tasty dishes such as fluffy Bedouin flatbreads (Bedouin pita made on the spot), labneh cheese, olives and tea brewed from desert plants, unique to Eilat. As you eat, absorb the torchlit setting and desert surroundings – it’s a magical experience!

A private tour through the majestic gardens while hearing about the fascinating Baha’i faith will allow not only to experience their amazing beauty, but also learn about the values it represents. What does the Baha’i faith stand for? What’s the meaning of the garden and it’s symbols and why those gardens were built in Haifa? You can book this tour in English, Russian, Hebrew or German. It’s possible to include the gardens in a half or full day tour or to book only an in-depth tour of the gardens.

Beny Shlevich

My name is Beny Shlevich. I’m a licensed tour guide in Israel, and I’d like to show you around the fascinating country I call home. Coming from a migrant family, I’ve been trying to make sense of the vibrant, beautiful and head-spinning mess that is Israel all my life. These past three years, I’ve found the best way to do so is to introduce the country to curious visitors of all backgrounds. Whether you’re Christian or Jewish, a family or a youth group, a pilgrim or a hiker — my mission is to help you untangle the intricacies of history, religion, nature and the peoples of Israel.

Before guiding, I devoted my life to sustainability education and activism for a just life for all who share this land. I bring these approaches to my tours as well; I tell a multi-narrative, often conflicting story of the peoples of Israel.

Having traveled myself, I believe in slow travel. I encourage you to take the time and experience this tiny and packed country by foot or bicycle, and get an intimate feel of the land. I would be glad to guide you in English, Russian, or Hebrew. All of my tours are fully insured.

Liran Gabay

Shalom! I’m Liran Gabay, a licensed private tour guide and tour-operator in Israel. I have been a favored choice by families interested in “boutique-style” tours, dedicated to experiencing Israel as a whole and Jerusalem in particular.

My specialty lies in the Jewish and Christian heritage as well as modern Israel. I have planned, arranged and guided numerous tours for individuals and groups, families as well as VIP visitors. Additionally, I am a tour guide driver owning ultimate VIP shuttle – a specious 6 passengers Mercedes sedan, licensed and insured for tourist. I invite you to look at some of the tours I offer, see what you like, add your wishes and contact me so that together we can tailor-plan an unforgettable trip to the one and only Holy Land, Israel.

Arik H

My name is Arik. At the end of 2008, I had every intention of becoming a teacher at a typical Israeli high school. It was just after finishing my Bachelor’s Degree, given to me by the Hebrew-U in Jerusalem there I lived for beautiful eight years. There is no city that can compare to Jerusalem with all its complexities.

In 2009, While I was already working as a guide in the Holocaust Museum (Yad Vashem) in Jerusalem, I was looking for a local school where I could do my training as a starting teacher and officially get licensed by the Ministry of Education in Israel.

In one of those days, after I’ve just finished guiding a brilliant group of American students from Brown University my co-worker, that was teaching in an high school told me I should become a staff member as well and give it a try. Honestly I felt a little like Michelle Pfeiffer in her role ‘Dangerous Minds’. In other words that I am going to make a real change in their worldview entirely and transform them to love Literature just as I do.

I was working for hours and hours on end, perfecting my lesson plans at home; thinking about each and every word I am gonna tell them; showing them the conflicts the protagonists had experienced in the novels just like they do in their reality. I needed something more suitable to my character which is a free spirit. I wanted something more uplifting and engaging. But still in the same field of education and passing knowledge. So I went for dream and completed the official tour guide course by the Ministry of Tourism at the end of 2011. Yea!

Since then this is what I do! Being a guide for more than 10 years made me the happiest man ever. I get to know super interesting people, I have the chance to work with people that are keen on listening, without the formalities of a classroom. As someone that likes to travel, I know how stressful traveling could be! All those questions such as, did I pick the right hotel? Or if it’s your once-in-a-lifetime B’nai mitzvot event for your children. Or did I pick the right rabbi or that skilled photographer for the ultimate pictures? Are all those recommendations online are they really that good? So my friends! This is what I’m here for!

Apart from being your top-notch expert private tour guide that will reveal the beauties of this amazing piece of land. I’ll also narrate beautifully all these amazing stories that would come to life. I’ll be your chauffeur, concierge, photographer, and more.
