Today there are still small Jewish communities in most of the bigger cities, they are the reminder that once there were over 250 000 Jews in Morocco in thriving communities across the country. There are many Jewish heritage and cultural sights throughout the country that attest to these ancient communities, synagogues, cemeteries, Mellah’s (Jewish living quarters) and the only Jewish museum in the Arab world.
