Western Wall Tunnels

Group Heritage Historical Private Walking
TOUR OVERVIEW

The Original Western Wall Tunnels Tour

The Original Western Wall Tunnels Tour takes you to see parts of the Wall that are normally hidden from view below ground. On this hour-long tour, you can touch the original stones of the Western Wall and explore the underground tunnels of the Old City. Led by a local guide, the Western Wall Tunnels Tour is a fascinating journey through the large stone vaults underneath the city, paired with innovative virtual models.

Along the way, you’ll hear stories from the past told by your guide while walking through the tunnels, one of the most significant remnants from the days of the Second Temple. Explore the tunnels’ arches, cisterns, and an ancient water aqueduct trench that ends at the Struthion Pool. Along with a small group of fellow travelers, you will get an interactive view into a piece of Jerusalem’s ancient history.

Available in English multiple times per day, this tour is perfect for anyone interested in learning about history and religion in a real-life setting. The small group size is limited to 35 attendees max, which helps create an intimate and almost sacred experience as you walk through the thousands-year-old tunnels. If you’re looking for a tour that goes below the typical tourist path and brings ancient Jerusalem to life, the Great Stone Route is in a class of its own.

🌍 Celebrating One Year of the Jewish Silk Road Portal

World Jewish Travel was thrilled at #IMTM 2024 to present a copy of the WJT Jewish Silk Road Pressbook to the CEO of the Azerbaijan National Tourism Board Florian Sengstschmid and Jamilya Talibzade its Israeli representative Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB).

The Pressbook celebrates the one year anniversary of the Jewish Silk Road Portal launch, an amazing example of using Jewish travel as a means of cultural diplomacy, whilst highlighting the significant Jewish contribution to the ancient trade route. Kudos to our participating partners from the Kiriaty Foundation (Turkey), National Board of Tourism of #Georgia, National Board of Tourism of #Uzbekistan, and Israeli Embassy of #India.

See the overwhelming reaction from the press, by downloading our free pressbook. Special thanks to Moshe Gilad of the @haaretzcom for highlighting this forgotten but important story in the Galeria section of the newspaper and available to download on WJT.
