Krakių Bendruomenės Svetainė

Visitors to the site will be able to participate not only in programs of exceptional creativity, but also to taste the products supplied by local farmers and small producers. One of the main goals of the project is to promote cooperation between local food producers and local communities in the production, promotion and sale of their products by creating a public space. Encourage cooperation between food producers in the field of agricultural and food supply, combining transport, distribution, marketing, advertising and quality management activities, with the aim of ensuring that the products supplied reach the consumer quickly by developing the organization of the food supply chain.

The head of the community center says that by organizing food for consumers according to the so-called short and healthy food chain, the consumer has a great opportunity to find out what is being bought, what and how it is made. Benefits for both the producer, who can create more added value, and the consumer, who gets food closer and healthier. It is both an education and a benefit to nature. Still, there is still a lot to improve here. “It simply came to our notice then. There are people in the area who produce butter organically and grow vegetables, but people do not dare to apply to the Veterinary Service for a permit. And we are without permission – no way. “Our people are hardworking, they only have a lot of internal fears, which is the biggest obstacle,” Daiva is convinced.

Currently, agreements are being concluded with thirteen farmers and small producers of Kėdainiai region. Erikas Augustinavičius, one of the largest beekeepers in the area, will supply honey and its products. Eggs, vegetables and spices will be bought from local farmers. And that’s just the beginning of the list.

“Local produce is not just food. For example, the Ažytėnai community center has a sewing shop where she sews wonderful aprons and bags for spices. After all, it is also a local producer. Krakiškis Algimantas Vaiciekauskas weaves wonderful baskets and baskets. They can be used to add products and prepare business gifts for customers. Such a harmony is very beautiful. If you look more creatively, you can create a lot of wonderful things, ”said the community leader.

According to her, the site will initially produce traditional food from the region, such as zeppelins with curd, cold beets with sourdoughs, and customers will be invited to try new and exclusive dishes and desserts during the tastings.

Yosef Hummus

Yosef Hummus was born in Pardes Hanna as a tiny hummus shop at the entrance to Yosef’s family’s spice store; it had just three tables but lots of love! About a decade ago, the hummus restaurant moved to the new location where it is to this day. Our chickpeas are served hot and ground fresh in front of customers, served with a variety of toppings, special salads, and original home-made dishes born from crowd requests. Yosef’s menu also has vegans and gluten-free options.

Cooking has always been Yosef’s greatest pleasure, but his greatest love was making hummus. Cooking and entertaining accompanied him all his life and even as a young child, at his parents’ house, the door was always open to anyone who just wanted to come. In the kitchen, which was everyone’s meeting place, the smells were amazing, as special dishes were always prepared, and around the small table, friends and guests gathered daily, enjoying every bite and the special atmosphere.

After the army Yosef studied engineering, industry and management at the Ruppin Academic Center. He financed his studies from his job as a cook, but upon graduation he quit his job in the kitchen and began working as an employee in the sales field for several years. One day, when he returned from a routine visit to one of his clients, Yosef had a not-so-simple car accident, which sidelined him for six months. Yoseph fought and went through a long rehabilitation process, and at the end he felt it was time to do what he really loved. So he decided to leave the sales field and return to work as a full-time cook. Soon, thanks to the perseverance, determination and managerial authority he demonstrated, Yosef progressed to the managerial role as chef of several restaurants in Caesarea, while enriching his knowledge and culinary experience. After a few years a number of investors, who were very attached to Yosef’s tastes and creativity, approached him with an offer to open restaurants overseas.

After a short time abroad, Yosef returned to Israel, as the option to move with his family overseas was not possible. Therefore, upon his return, Yosef decided to take the opportunity and embark on an independent journey. He opened a small hummus shop in front of his family’s spice shop in Pardes Hanna. The concept of the little hummus spot was that all the food is made in front of the customer’s eyes, meaning what you see is what you eat, and the food is served hot and fresh. The rumor about the delicious chickpeas and homemade dishes spread by word of mouth, and many people, even from far areas, flocked to the place. With the success, came a demand to open more branches and additional shops were opened in cities such as Caesarea, Ramat Aviv, Givatayim, and Holon.

Falafel Zichron

Samarkand

Samarkand is the first restaurant in the country to present Bukharian hospitality to the Israeli public. The restaurant was founded in 1995 by the father of the family, Eliyahu Pozilev. Abroad, Elijah worked as a chef at an upscale restaurant in Samarkand, Uzbekistan where he specialized in traditional Uzbek cuisine. When he immigrated to Israel, the desire to open a restaurant remained, and due to difficulties adaptating to the language, he decided to involve his sons and eventually his grandchildren to the business.

In a country where in the 1990s, the Chinese egg roll was perceived as a unique dish, few people were privileged to taste Bukharian food. Reputable chefs and curious reporters began to arrive and try juicy dishes, and little by little the names of foods and recipes began to appear in the various magazines. The secrets of Uzbek cuisine have passed from father to son and grandson, and to this day are cooked in Samarkand using the traditional methods and preserve wonderful ethnic flavors.

From the moment you enter the restaurant you will encounter a pleasant, family and enveloping staff. You will get an explanation of the various meats, dumplings, soups or pastries that are on the rich menu. You will receive a variety of tastings, until the desired dish is generously served to your table.
