Taverna Hait

Tavern Hait was opened in a historical place – in the building of the tobacco company “Laferm”. More than a century ago, tobacco warehouses and offices of the company were located here, tobacco from which was completely exported by the tobacco factories of the Russian Empire. Historical sources also confirm the fact that in the same building at the turn of the XIX-XX centuries there was a regional branch of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Ministry of Agriculture and State Property of the Russian Empire. The facade of this building is still adorned with the symbol of the CCI – Caduceus (the rod of the mythical god of trade, Mercury).

Tavern Hait is one of the only fish restaurants in Abkhazia. Here you can taste the Black Sea flounder, the famous Abkhaz red mullet, various dishes with seafood. Hait impresses with its stylish serving of dishes, especially the national Caucasian cuisine. The interior of the restaurant is designed in the “loft” style. When developing the design of the hall, Hait kept the interior in its original form, emphasizing the details in order to convey the unique atmosphere and spirit of industrial Sukhum of the XIX-XX centuries. The tavern itself was given the name of the Abkhaz good spirit of the sea – Hait. You can familiarize yourself with the legend about him within the walls of the restaurant.
