Bella Carne

BellaCarne is not just a kosher restaurant in Rome. It is the place where the thousand souls of the Ghetto meet: kosher cuisine and taste, tradition and innovation, culture and design. A family project, even in the name: BellaCarne is an old saying of the Jewish community, an affectionate vocative directed to the little ones to express tenderness, usually accompanied by the classic pinch on the cheek that we have all received at least once. At the same time, a great entrepreneurial project: excellent products, qualified personnel, exclusive services. At competitive prices.

From noon to midnight, the kitchen of the kosher restaurant awaits you: for lunch, with a complete à la carte menu; for an afternoon snack with our rotisserie or grilled cuts of meat, mixed skewers, kebabs (shawarma), hot dogs and burgers with different minced meat; for an Israeli tea to accompany our homemade desserts; for dinner , with all the proposals of the restaurant: classic appetizers, crispy fried or whims of cured meats of our production; soups, Israeli cous cous and fresh pasta, main courses from the kitchen or from the rotisserie. You cannot visit the Jewish quarter and not go to eat at BellaCarne: your restaurant in the Ghetto of Rome!

Bourekas Turkey Original

Avi and Chaim’s bourekas were not nominated as the best bourekas in the world for no reason. At Bourekas Turkey Original, the pastries are a fresh experience! Far from oily and filled with fresh spinach, these bourekas are a delight to eat. It is recommended to enjoy Persian ‘doogh’, a traditional, minted yogurt drink, to complete the experience.

Hummus Abu Berkovich

The mastermind behind the world’s first ‘Ashkenazi Hummus Restaurant’ is Kobi Berkovich- an evolving chef. Berkovich began as a vegetarian chef, and focused on transforming regular dishes into something special. Ten years ago, he opened Abu Berkovich, where hummus is served with noteworthy toppings, among other popular dishes such as shakshuka and falafel. Berkovich boasts about using the best possible ingredients to be found, and his dishes manifest his claim!

Falafel Mosa

At Falafel Mosa, Moshe has not allowed the advancements of technology to interfere with the creative process of serving a fresh and handmade falafel for decades. This traditional dish is served in a thick pita, topped with hot fava beans, hard-boiled egg, spicy tomato salad, tahini, and freshly chopped parsley, with a delicious spinach patty to top it all off!

Hodu HaKtana

Chanoch Stomker, a Beer Sheva native, has spent his entire life soaking up his mother’s secrets of Jewish-Indian cuisine. Learning to mimic these divine flavors did not satisfy him though, and Chanoch proceeded to work in numerous restaurants before jumping into the deep end. Hodu Ha’Ktana, otherwise known as Little India, is now situated on a friendly neighbourhood corner in Beer Sheva. Food lovers call his menu ‘traditional Indian with a Jewish touch’. Diners have the choice of the classic restaurant venue, or to enjoy their meal out back on low couches in a fantastic tent.

Shawarma Shemesh

This legendary branch of Shawarma Shemesh offers a variety of traditional Iraqi dishes, but there is no denying that the award-winning dish is the shawarma. While maintaining its status as a well-established restaurant, Moshe is adament in preparing his each dish traditonally and with care.

Bahadones

Bahadones was not nicknamed ‘the-best-hummus-a Jewish-person-can-prepare’ for no reason! For more than 30 years, this hummus hot-spot has flourished, expanding throughout several cities in central Israel. However, as the old saying goes, nothing compares to the original!

Ha’Misada Ha’Yehudit

In the heart of Bnei Brak, sits a strictly kosher restaurant called Ha’Misada Ha’Yehudit. The root of Israel Stern’s menu is Eastern European, or what some Jews may call, ‘The Old Country’. Traditional dishes such as matzoh balls and ‘regel krusha’, and the sounds of lively, klezmer music compliment the authentic Hasidic atmosphere.

Falafels

Falafel is an ancient dish that has been popular in Egypt and now the rest of the Middle East. The history of falafel goes back to the days of the pharaohs. The name most likely devise from the Arabic word for spicy, Mefelfel.

The Copts, an Egyptian Christian sect, also claim to have invented the ta’amia, the fava-bean fritter that is parent to the falafel. It is believed that falafels were invented in Alexandria. Since Alexandria is a port, sailors from all over took the delicious little patties home, and eventually falafel became popular fasts food all over the Middle East.

Accordingly, Middle Eastern Jews overwhelmingly favored chickpeas solo in their falafels. An early Middle Eastern fast food, falafel was commonly sold wrapped in paper, but not served in the familiar pita sandwich.

Beginning in the 1950s, Yemenite immigrants in Israel took up making falafel to earn a livehood, utilizing the chickpea version common in the Levant and transformed this ancient treat into the Israeli national street food.

It’s hard to come by authentic, good quality, healthy Mediterranean and Lebanese cuisine. Falafel’s not only pioneered the segment but remains the leader even today! From an array of delicious falafels and yummy hummus platters, to healthy wraps, and salads to powerhouse meal boxes, Falafel’s has slightly tempered all of these to suit the Indian palate, while retaining all the original flavours. Vegetarian and non-vegetarian fares come in a wide variety of flavours that will leave you spoilt for choice. All dishes at Falafel’s are priced sparingly so that healthy food is always available to you without burning a hole in your pocket. The focus remains on good food and quick service so that you never have to wait long for your meal. One of the fastest growing quick service meal chains in the country, Falafel’s is the nourishing answer to all your food cravings!
