Viking Fjord Treks, Norway – Kosher and Shomer Shabbos

The Vikings were some of the toughest people to ever walk this earth, looking at the land that spawned them, it’s not hard to see why.
Carved by the relentless North Atlantic for eons, the Norwegian fjords are a challenge that beckons hikers and mountaineers of all ages and abilities.

This trip will put you on intimate terms with the great green hills, monstrous peaks, enormous glaciers, and flat-out gorgeous scenery of this isolated chunk of Scandinavia.
Lace up your hiking boots and set forth in search of your own personal Valhalla.

Geographically, this is the archetypal Norway. Although fjords can be found in other parts of the world, the word ‘fjord’ is Norwegian, and this is the region of Norway where most of the iconic fjords can be found.

We can plan and adjust your Viking Fjord Trek adventure to suit you and your group. You can decide which adventures you want to experience and we will plan out the best schedule for you to fit in exactly what you want.

Activities will be subject to availability, so planing early is essential.

Yam L’ Yam, Israel

The Yam L’ Yam Hike (Sea to Sea) is one of the most popular hiking trails in Israel literally crossing the country from west to east, from the Mediterranean Sea to the Sea of Galilee, crossing some of Israel’s most beautiful scenery in the Western Galilee and Upper Galilee regions. The Sea to Sea hike is walked by thousands of Israelis and tourists every year, and takes between three to five days depending on how fast you walk, along marked scenic trails.

The trail starts in the city of Nahariya on Israel’s Mediterranean Coast, in the Western Galilee region of the country and heads directly inland through the flat Coastal Plain, and the fields belonging to kibbutzim and moshavim who grow a huge variety of crops. As the Coastal Plain is left behind, the terrain begins to pick up and the final glimpse of the first sea (the Mediterranean) is left behind. You will pass the Montfort Fortress. Heading from Abirim, the trail continues east until the village of Fassuta, when it turns south winding its way past the villages of Elkosh and Hurfesh and towards Mount Meron. Following this is largely the descent down to the Sea of Galilee (the lowest freshwater lake on earth!) passing the famous city of Safed and ending on the shores of the Sea of Galilee just north of Kibbutz Ginosar.

The hike is a total of approx. 90km starting at sea level, climbing to 1,200 meters, and then descending to -210 meters.

Whilst you can do the hike all-year-round, the nicest times are spring and fall – temperatures in the summer can be incredibly high. If taking this trail during the hot season, close attention must be made to the temperature and advice should be taken from the Park Rangers.

Galapagos Island Cruise, Ecuador – Kosher and Shomer Shabbos

The Galapagos Islands are famous all around the world as the inspiration for Charles Darwin’s ‘Theory of Evolution’, which he figured out by observing the islands’ unique wildlife.

For many a Galapagos Islands trip is the highlight of any journey through Ecuador and is a bucket-list destination. It has some of the most unique wildlife in the world, including giant tortoises, marine iguanas, and blue-footed boobies (birds).

The world’s only equatorial penguins can be found on these volcanic islands. The species living here have managed to evolve over millions of years and most of our range of Galapagos tours will allow you to observe these charming animals in their natural environment.

There is much more to see here besides the wildlife; the landscapes in the Galapagos are incredibly diverse, with many incredible sights. From the black lava stone rocks to white- or orange-sanded beaches with crystal clear water, the Galapagos Islands are full of delights and surprises!

Sail on one of our 4 yatchs, from 16 to 100 guest capacity, using our full Kosher facilities. Sailings available from Sundays, after spending Shabbat in Quito.
