The ultimate Tel Aviv encounter through the lens of Art, Architecture and food

Get to know Tel Aviv’s History through the perspective of its UNESCO protected architecture, diverse food culture and Street Art. The tour will take us into the heart of the city, the Carmel market , the oldest neighbourhood of Tel Aviv, the American colony and the up-and-coming Florentine. The guide will share his knowledge, personal stories and anecdotes and bring his experience both as professional artist and chef. The following is some of the content that I cover in my tours:

Wine Tasting by Night in Old Jaffa

An fascinating Journey of Jaffa’s history through local wines!

Step into the ancient streets of Jaffa and explore the old city through sights, stories and the finest local wines. We will start at the American- German colony sampling local sparkling wine, walk past a Well-House to discover Jaffa’s major industry a century ago and climb up a hill to get a glimpse of the shining lights of Tel Aviv . At each stop we will sample some wine and lean about the unique vineyard the produces it. We will conclude at the flea market, the heart of the night life in Jaffa, with our final tasting and a little snack.

Red Canyon, Desert & Kibbutz Life

The best that the Southern Arava desert has to offer! Walk through the Red Canyon, see the spectacular sand dunes within the Ovda Valley. For a better taste of the desert, try the local desert-produced wines at Kibbutz Neot Semadar while learning about the lifestyle and values of collective communal kibbutz. See the future reflected in the transformations which the Kibbutz is undergoing from traditional agricultural lifestyle to the booming technology of today!

On this tour, you will visit some of the most breathtaking natural landscapes in the south of Israel. The tour will begin with a hike along the walls of the Red Canyon, sculpted over millions of years by water and wind, and featuring magnificent backdrops and undisturbed desert trails. At Kibbutz Neot Semadar, we will explore its iconic arts complex and learn about Kibbutz life from one of the most ecologically minded communities in the Arava Valley.

Taste the wines made here using grapes from the local organic farm, where harsh desert conditions and heightened altitude contribute to the complex and full bodied flavors. Enjoy the local fruits, vegetables, and cheeses at Pundak Neot Semadar, a restaurant and shop that features healthy vegetarian meals you can buy for lunch and produce from the organic farm at the Kibbutz.

Private Tour in the Bahai Gardens

A private tour through the majestic gardens while hearing about the fascinating Baha’i faith will allow not only to experience their amazing beauty, but also learn about the values it represents. What does the Baha’i faith stand for? What’s the meaning of the garden and it’s symbols and why those gardens were built in Haifa? You can book this tour in English, Russian, Hebrew or German. It’s possible to include the gardens in a half or full day tour or to book only an in-depth tour of the gardens.

Haifa walking tour from Haifa Port

The Haifa walking tour with Joe S. starts by taking a short walk through DownTown Haifa to coffee shops in the rejuvenated old port warehouse area. From there, the group takes a cable car to Mt Carmel (all seven stations). After that, the tour goes to a view of the Haifa Bay and/ or the Museum of Japanese art.

Next on the tour, is the Mane Katz art gallery and coffee shop on the view. From there, everyone is taken to the Haifa Zoo to socialize on the grass, benches, and play park games. Afterthat, Joe takes you to walk on the Louis promenade along the Bayview path. To close of the tour, the group will go to the Bahai Gardens and hear their story, and then go back to walk along the port on the cable car. Hamat Tiberias National Park Tour

On this tour, you will explore the Hamat Tiberias National Park. It was built during 286 and 337 CE when the Sanhedrin was headquartered in Tiberias. It is an ancient archaeological site and most famous Israeli national park, which is found on the Tiberias-Zemach road. Admire the beauty of the church, it consists of three panels. The middle one describes a panoramic zodiac, surrounding Helios the sun god, driving his chariot across the sky. Explore the images of four women signifying the seasons arrive in each corner of this panel.

Golan Heights and Galilee Tour

Experience the Golan and Galilee with this two day tour taking you to some of the most spectacular sights in Northern Israel. Visit the Banias, one of Israel’s most amazing nature reserves. Enjoy the beauty of the Golan Heights, with trips to Katzerin and Mount Bental, and discover the historic town of Safed. Led by an experienced guide, this tour includes accommodation and breakfast.

Jesus Trail Hiking Package from Nazareth

The 6-Day Jesus Trail Hike will take you on an unforgettable walk through history, culture, and spirituality. Journey through small villages, bustling cities, and sweeping farmland along a well known trail where Jesus chose to carry out his ministry. Beginning in Nazareth, you will visit the old Roman Galilean capital: Zippori, the location of the first miracle in Cana, a fully-functioning religious Jewish Kibbutz, ancient olive groves, Mount Arbel, and of course – the Sea of Galilee. Along the coast, you will visit important churches, with the final destination being Capernaum: the center of of much of Jesus’ ministry. An additional hike to the Mount of Beatitudes is an optional, and recommended walk.

The Pressbook celebrates the one year anniversary of the Jewish Silk Road Portal launch, an amazing example of using Jewish travel as a means of cultural diplomacy, whilst highlighting the significant Jewish contribution to the ancient trade route. Kudos to our participating partners from the Kiriaty Foundation (Turkey), National Board of Tourism of #Georgia, National Board of Tourism of #Uzbekistan, and Israeli Embassy of #India.
