Kornmehl Farm

Kornmehl farm was founded on the eve of Rosh Hashanah by Anat and Daniel Kornel, two graduates of Israel’s School of Agriculture. The farm overlooks the desert mountains with its goat pens being placed in a more nascent fashion in front of man made terraces. This has been a herding technique used in the area for the last 4000 years. The restaurant cheese selections offer patrons the farm’s interpretation of iconic cheeses. The health and contentment of the goats is key to the quality taste of it’s goat milk. The farm restaurant offers a variety of housemade cheeses and fresh breads for spreading as well as a few other comfort food staples like rice pudding, focaccia, and knafe.

His dishes place an emphasis on fine seafood and seeks to provide diners with good food and good fun. The Idi experience includes red tuna steaks, fried calamari, and plenty of high quality wine and spirits to wash it all down.

Ronen has plenty of personality all his own and from the moment you interact with him it is clear he wants his patrons to have a good time. Maybe too good of a time, serving a lovely combination of wine and qat, a plant that gives one a distinct high or buzz. There is also plenty of singing and dancing to go along with the meal.

Ishtabach

Ishtabach is a compact, unassuming locale serving fresh Kurdish pastries in Jerusalem’s Mahane Yehuda Market. The widely popular bakery-style restaurant is the brainchild of Chef Oren Sasson-Levy, who obtained inspiration from another realm. In the midst of a two-month coma, his grandmother came to him in a dream to explain he could achieve phenomenal success with anything he put his heart and soul into.

Oren decided to open a restaurant in her honor—and the phenomenally successful project has now fulfilled her legacy. Patrons pack out the quirky, tightly packed space on any given night to devour his delicious baked pastries and sip frothy beers. Unsure what to order? Try the signature Shamburak, a hearty Kurdish pastry chock full of veggies and exotic meats.
