Hotel Canal Grande

Hotel Canal Grande is a boutique hotel in Venice also knows as the “Boutique Hotel of the Venetian 1700’s.” This stunning hotel faces the Canal Grande, overlooking a Venetian square. It is also just a few minutes from Santa Lucia train station, the Rialto, St. Mark’s Square, and Piazzale Roma. This hotel will surround you with the atmosphere of ancient Venice with art and history, inspired by the Queen of the Adriatic.

 

Sabrina Scaglianti

Sabrina was born and raised in Venice and has always been interested in the anthropology of traveling and tourism. She has worked in the tourism business since the early 90’s, mainly working as a guide in Venice, but she also leads seminars and volunteers for A.F.S. and the European Federation for Intercultural Learning. Sabrina offers a variety of tours for groups with a variety of interests. 

Luisella Romeo

Luisella has worked as a registered tour guide in Venice since May 2000, when she was officially certified by the Regione Veneto. She is also a member of the Association of Registered Tourist Guides in Venice and the National Association of Tourist Guides in Italy. After graduating from the University in Venice Ca’ Foscari with a degree in Foreign Languages and Literature, she traveled abroad where she continued to study art and history. Luisella loves meeting people from around the world and hearing their different perspectives. She loves working as a tour guide and is looking forward to helping you discover Venice. 

Fiona Guisto

Fiona was born and raised in the beautiful city of Venice where she attended school and graduated with a degree in Foreign Languages and Literature from Ca’ Foscari university. She started working as a professional guide in Spring 2000 after obtaining her licence from the Regione Veneto. Since then, she has worked with clients from around the world leading tours in art and Venetian palaces, by foot and on boats, and to both classical sights and hidden gems around the city. 

Nicoletta Consentino

Nicoletta has worked as a professional guide in Venice since 2009 and enjoys showing the beautify of her city to those around the world who come to see it.  Her tours usually last 3-4 hours, but can last as long as it needs to cover the interests of her clients, whether that be food, art, or history. Nicoletta can show you the palaces, museum, and monuments of Venice, as well as the hidden canals and cultural spots. 

Rosanna Colombo

After receiving her degree in Foreign Languages and Literature at the University Ca’ Foscari of Venice, Rosanna become a Travel Assistant. However, she never stopped studying the history and art of Venice. Finally in 2007, Rosanna’s dream of becoming a licensed Venice tour guide came true. She enjoys meeting new people from around the world and sharing her vast knowledge with people who come visit the city she loves very much.

 

Jewish Ghetto Food Tour

The Jewish Ghetto Food Tour allows you to explore one of the most charming areas of Venice while visiting more than six local eateries. You will visit an old coffee roaster, the Rabbi’s house, historic synagogues, and an old traditional bakery where you will be served specialty biscuits and cakes. You will visit several other restaurants where you will taste tradition Jewish-Venetian dishes like Artichoke Bottoms and Sarde al Saor with kosher wine, and specialty pasta dishes. This tour is a fun and tasty way to experience the history, art, and culture of Venice.

Venice Bites Food Tour — Off The Beaten Path

This tour takes you around the vibrant city of Venice while experiencing the local neighborhoods and local food. Most of the stops you make on this tour are to family-owned businesses as the tour guides try and bring you to best local eateries and not just the places you find in a travel book. Venice Photo Walk

This guided photo walk allows you to see Venice through a new lens and capture some of the most beautiful spots in the city. The guides are photo reporters and photographers and are excited to show you hidden sights outside the usual tourist routes as well as how to capture the most stunning images of famous landmarks. It doesn’t matter if you are an experienced photographer with a professional camera or just appreciate photography as a hobby on your iPhone, your guide will help you take breathtaking photographs. You will learn which lenses and settings to use, and how to use lighting to create photographic art. At the end of the tour, you will have photographs that tell a story and truly capture the beauty of your stay in Venice.

Cannaregio District and the Jewish Ghetto

In the Cannaregio distrcit, one of the oldest districts in Venice, sits the Jewish Ghetto. This district isn’t known to many tourists, but it’s a charming place to visit and holds so much history. On this tour you will visit the Campo del Ghetto Nova where you will learn about the history of the Jewish Ghetto and how for years it was an important reference point for the European Jewish community. You will also see the outsides of several synagogues, visit Ghetto Vecchio, and explore several other hidden treasures in Cannaregio district.

World Jewish Travel was thrilled at #IMTM 2024 to present a copy of the WJT Jewish Silk Road Pressbook to the CEO of the Azerbaijan National Tourism Board Florian Sengstschmid and Jamilya Talibzade its Israeli representative Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB).

The Pressbook celebrates the one year anniversary of the Jewish Silk Road Portal launch, an amazing example of using Jewish travel as a means of cultural diplomacy, whilst highlighting the significant Jewish contribution to the ancient trade route. Kudos to our participating partners from the Kiriaty Foundation (Turkey), National Board of Tourism of #Georgia, National Board of Tourism of #Uzbekistan, and Israeli Embassy of #India.
