Havana is a city rich in history, culture, tradition, and coffee. There is a thriving community of Jewish life, whose roots go all the way back to the days of Christopher Columbus. Havana is home to one of the oldest practicing Jewish communities in the Caribbean, a proud community with a story unlike any other.
There is nothing more basic than the desire to know one’s past. Since the 17th century, Jews from all four corners of the earth arrived in America in search of freedom to practice their faith in peace and as a way to persecution that had chased them for thousands of years, Yet, generations later we still crave to see where our ancestors lived and walk in their footsteps to get a glimpse into the unique culture and traditions they brought with them.
Central America is one of the world’s most vibrant and exciting regions. Countries like Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, and Guatemala are historical melting pots with rich cultures and traditions that can amaze even the most experienced travelers. They also offer visitors outstanding natural beauty with miles of golden beaches, mountains and tropical rainforests.
Argentina is one of the biggest and most beautiful countries in South America and has a Jewish history going back centuries. The Jewish community in Argentina is vibrant and welcoming and has its own distinctive culture. A trip to Argentina – with the metropolitan bustle of Buenos Aires, the tranquil rolling grasslands of the Pampas, and the splendid icy beauty of the Antarctic – is the adventure of a lifetime.
South America is one of the world’s most exciting tourist destinations. The massive continent is best known for its amazing diversity of wildlife and natural wonders, and has a rich and fascinating history. 🌍 Celebrating One Year of the Jewish Silk Road Portal
World Jewish Travel was thrilled at #IMTM 2024 to present a copy of the WJT Jewish Silk Road Pressbook to the CEO of the Azerbaijan National Tourism Board Florian Sengstschmid and Jamilya Talibzade its Israeli representative Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB).
The Pressbook celebrates the one year anniversary of the Jewish Silk Road Portal launch, an amazing example of using Jewish travel as a means of cultural diplomacy, whilst highlighting the significant Jewish contribution to the ancient trade route. Kudos to our participating partners from the Kiriaty Foundation (Turkey), National Board of Tourism of #Georgia, National Board of Tourism of #Uzbekistan, and Israeli Embassy of #India.
