Amit discovered his passion for cooking as a child, in his grandmother’s kitchen. Two decades later, when his family immigrated to South Africa he fulfilled his dreams and worked professionally in the field. Years later, after a visit in India, he was inspired by the culture and diverse cuisine and decided return to the subcontinent and train in the local culinary arts. He brought back his knowledge to Cape Town and opened Masala Dosa Restaurant that combined traditional South Indian cookery with a modern dining experience. The restaurant operated successfully for 11 years under the care and dedication of Amit and also functioned as a space for cooking workshops for the public and chefs alike. The desire for change and travel led Amit to sell the restaurant in2016 and embark on a journey around the world. At the end of his travels he decided to return to his birthplace in Israel. He chose to reside in the heart of the city on a rooftop apartment surrounded by trees and birds. In this space he offers his experience and knowledge and hold workshops and special culinary events. Amit’s passions extend to the arts too. He has studied Design and Fine Art and has worked both as an artist and educator in these subjects in private institutions. He brings his knowledge and love to his guided tours in Tel Aviv specializing in street -art and architecture.
I’ve been always fascinated by our small but special land of Israel. So small but so much to see, so much history and many experiences to collect. I’m lucky to discover my passion in an early stage of life, and even more lucky to share that passion with people from all around the globe. I believe that a tour guide real role is to make you feel the heart of the land of Israel by reviving its history and connecting it to the present and the future. - Eli Vogman

My Name is Yuval De-Joannes. I live in Moshav Tzafririm in the Ella Valley and I lead tours throughout the country for over twelve years. My passion for traveling began in my early school days, when I've joined the school of environmental studies in the Negev desert. Upon completing my military service as a paratrooper, and traveling the world for a couple of years, I've joined Ben-Gurion University and started my academic life. First, I've achieved a bachelor's degree in Behavioral sciences, and then through Haifa university, a Master's degree in Cultural Anthropology. My fieldwork took place in Ireland, on one of the Islands off the west coast, where I stayed for nearly two years. Upon my return, I tried to put into practice the knowledge of people and history I've gained and completed an International tour guiding course, conducted by the Open University, and another tour guiding course conducted by the ministry of tourism. A third course I've completed was conducted by the ministry of education. Through the years I've received special expertise certificates, from the ministry of tourism in Christianity, Zionism, desert tourism and wine tourism. From here the road was open to a new career. I've decided to focus on Israel, and to put all my energy in exploring it in depth. For me guiding is a passion, if not a call. Every tour I take is different for me. Even if the sites might repeat themselves, they are always fresh for me, cause every time I see them through different eyes, the eyes of those I travel with. When I'm not guiding I enjoy hiking in Israel and around the world, mountain biking and reading. I guide families and individuals in Hebrew, English and Italian, and offer a wide range of focal points - theological, archaeological, historical, botanical, geological and more. It could be a day tour or a full package tour, all customized to your needs and desires. I use a luxurious Mercedes van, so you can be sure to travel in comfort and safety.
I’m originally from London but have been on the move quite a bit over the years, with stints living in Israel, Japan, Argentina and Switzerland. I love to travel and have been doing my best to see as much of the world as possible. While in the UK I spent four years studying at the University of Cambridge and hold a 1st class BA (with honours) and also an MA in Hebrew and Israeli Studies. I love languages and in addition to English and Hebrew also speak French, together with passable Spanish and Japanese. I spent ten years as a volunteer youth leader/counsellor in the UK’s largest Jewish youth organisation, culminating in a year working as its Executive Director. This gave me a lot of experience of working as an educator for young people, including leading groups in Israel. In 2008 I entered the world of business, joining the marketing function at Procter & Gamble, working on various household name brands. It was with P&G that I made my move to Israel in June 2010 and since then have been living in Tel Aviv. Then, in the summer of 2012, I decided to make my passion my profession, and enrolled in the intensive two year course to become a licensed tour guide in Israel. I was delighted to pass my exams and am thoroughly enjoying showing visitors around this very special country. I’m happy to say that those visitors also are enjoying themselves – I’m grateful to have been recognised by the Travel & Hospitality Awards as ‘Tour Guide of the Year in Israel‘ and by the Luxury Travel Guide as the ‘Tour Guide of the Year for Tel Aviv‘. I have also been awarded a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence three years running. Outside of guiding, I produce and present an Israeli music radio show, Kol Cambridge, on Israel’s English language radio station TLV1, write and record music, and am a co-founder of a tech start-up. I am most happily married and recently became a proud father to a beautiful little girl, as well as being a delighted uncle to nine nieces and nephews! -MyIsraeliGuide
