Dorit Tirosh

I am Dorit Tirosh, a tour guide form Zichron Yaakov. A guided tour names “From Founder’s Stree to Wine Route” can be integrated into your trip and get you acquainted with the long and facinating history of the Moshava. For large groups I recommend a “Location Treasure Hunt” game that takes after the American The Amazing Race, leading participants to perform tasks in selected museums, businesses, and venues.

Akko (Acre) Israel is an old city with a natural port at the northern tip of Haifa Bay. This natural port, standing at the end of the mainland route linking the wealth of the east with the Mediterranean Sea,has made Akko strategically important for thousands of years. As you wander through the old city, you are surrounded by buildings, tunnels, and walls, all from different periods in history.

Akko, especially the old city, is blessed with many attractions including the Inn of columns, the Knights Hospitaller wholes, The ancient fortifications, a colorful market and much more. Akko’s fabulous local market with the charm of an old city, don’t miss ou the excellent baklava sweets shop at the market!

Across from the mosque, you can walk down several levels and see how the Turks built many levels over the Crusaders city. The Knights’ Hall is the most beautiful of all, which was used by the Crusaders for ceremonies. Today the main hall is used for concerts.

Rachel Kaplan

Shalom ! I created European Jewish Heritage Tours in 1998 because I strongly believed that Europe was making amends for its terrible past, by investing in the rebuilding of Jewish communities across the Continent, and inaugurating new museums and Jewish centers in key European capitals.

As the European Editor of INSIDE Magazine, the quarterly published by The Jewish Exponent of Philadelphia, I had the chance to personally visit and write about many of these destinations and in so doing, found a fascinating Jewish legacy everywhere I went. I also discovered others through researching my four books: Little-known Museums In and Around Paris, London, Berlin and Rome.

The aim of European Jewish Heritage Tours today is to propose private customized tours for groups and individuals that offer an overview that both reveals the European Jewish past, and invites a discovery of Jewish life today. As the “Chosen People” we have the privilege and responsibility of knowing and honoring our heritage wherever it may be.

Delphine Yagüe CulturistiQ

Meetings, guided tours or workshops about a specific theme for a 1h30 to 2 hours experience, in a pedagogical and entertaining setting, for group up to 20 persons. Those experiences are built jointly by CulturistiQ and its partners: each partner presents the specificities of its work and heritage while CulturistiQ presents the same thematic through the point of view of Rashi and his disciples. As the writings of the Sages of Champagne are wonderful testimonies of daily life in the Middle Ages in Champagne, it is easy to transmit the local medieval way of life through their description of tools and technics, relationships between Jews and Christians, food, agriculture, nature and so on… All through the “experience”, CulturistiQ and its partners offer a dialogue between elements of local culture and Jewish local history/Jewish culture.

Avi Jeep

Hey! I am Avi Levy, a certified jeep tour guide with many years of experience in organizing and leading tours in general and field trips in particular.
I live in Kiryat Tivon with my wife, Dalit, and my seven children. From here I go for walks on the valley and mountain roads, the sea and the desert.
The SUVs we have have 6-8 seats.
The drivers I work with are some of the best veteran off-road drivers in Israel.

Yuval De Joannes

My Name is Yuval De-Joannes. I live in Moshav Tzafririm in the Ella Valley and I lead tours throughout the country for over twelve years. My passion for traveling began in my early school days, when I’ve joined the school of environmental studies in the Negev desert. Upon completing my military service as a paratrooper, and traveling the world for a couple of years, I’ve joined Ben-Gurion University and started my academic life.

First, I’ve achieved a bachelor’s degree in Behavioral sciences, and then through Haifa university, a Master’s degree in Cultural Anthropology. My fieldwork took place in Ireland, on one of the Islands off the west coast, where I stayed for nearly two years. Upon my return, I tried to put into practice the knowledge of people and history I’ve gained and completed an International tour guiding course, conducted by the Open University, and another tour guiding course conducted by the ministry of tourism.

A third course I’ve completed was conducted by the ministry of education. Through the years I’ve received special expertise certificates, from the ministry of tourism in Christianity, Zionism, desert tourism and wine tourism. From here the road was open to a new career. I’ve decided to focus on Israel, and to put all my energy in exploring it in depth. For me guiding is a passion, if not a call. Every tour I take is different for me. Even if the sites might repeat themselves, they are always fresh for me, cause every time I see them through different eyes, the eyes of those I travel with.

When I’m not guiding I enjoy hiking in Israel and around the world, mountain biking and reading. I guide families and individuals in Hebrew, English and Italian, and offer a wide range of focal points – theological, archaeological, historical, botanical, geological and more. It could be a day tour or a full package tour, all customized to your needs and desires. I use a luxurious Mercedes van, so you can be sure to travel in comfort and safety.

Hadara (Dari) Arbel

Native English speaker, born in 1984 in the United States, I have been living in Israel for nearly thirty years. Growing up in Jerusalem, one of the most intriguing and complex cities on earth, I have always been attracted to its history. Living in Tel Aviv and raising three young children, I keep my fingers on the pulse of its present.

Guiding has always been a part of my life: in youth groups, throughout my army service and shortly after as I was among the youngest licensed tour guides upon graduation. I have since gained 15 years of experience but am still as excited as I was on my very first day every time I meet a group, family or individual.
