The Cardo

trip advisors rating

The Cardo begins at the Damascus Gate and ends at the Zion Gate, crossing the city southward. In Ancient Roman cities, the Cardo was the main street running from north to south and was lined with a row of columns. Here you can find the mosaic Madaba Map, which depicts the oldest surviving cartographic image of Jerusalem. In the Cardo you can find several Jewish and Israeli shops selling jewelry, judaica, art, and more.
